What this number is — and isn't
The tool searches current dealer listings for the same year, make, model and (where known) trim, adjusts each one to your vehicle's mileage and reported condition, and takes the middle of the result. Every listing it used is shown to you, together with an evidence grade.
It is
- A starting file figure from dealer asking prices, not completed sales, on a retail-replacement basis, before taxes and fees
- A starting point for a total-loss or settlement conversation
- Transparent: you see every comparable, where it came from, and what was adjusted
It is not
- An inspection-based appraisal, an offer, or a settlement figure
- Based on completed sales — no transaction data is available to this tool; the 6% "transaction band" is an assumption
- Adjusted for title history, accidents, options, or taxes and fees
Method reviewed September 2026. Every valuation is retained so accuracy can be measured against settled files as they accumulate.
